We have often heard the phrase: ‘Cleanliness is Godliness’.

God or divine self is not outside of us. It is from within that we need to cleanse and consecrate our temple of our body-mind-spirit, through our thoughts, feelings, actions and behaviour.

Parasites are either people who live off your energy, or certain microscopic organisms and worms who live off your body to hive away your nutrients, and put you at risk of severe illnesses or death at times.

Your diet, hygiene and habits are essential for healing and cleansing your body, mind and spirit. Here are some starting tips:

1) Eat only a Whole-Food and Raw Vegan Diet

A well-planned whole-food vegan diet with main focus on raw plants such as fruit, vegetable salads, raw seeds and nuts is the base of your health and well-being, both physical, mental and spiritual.

  • Avoid all animal dead bodies or secretions, such as chicken, beef, lamb, fish, shellfish, dairy and eggs, which are common sources of food-borne bacteria and parasites, and also harms the soul with negative energy and immoral acts of exploitation.
  • Wash all fresh fruit and vegetables thoroughly before eating to remove infectious germs and parasites.
  • Do not use any other animal products or services such as leather, fur, animal hide, zoos, aquariums, pets or pet food, etc.
  • Store food correctly and avoid cross-contamination during food preparation or storage. Also avoid unhygienic restaurants, especially those that serve animal products including dairy or animal meat.
  • Satvik Diet and Lifestyle: Do not consume spoilt food, stale, over-processed or over-kept items. Eat food as soon as it is prepared. Refrigerate when required and eat promptly instead of keeping it in the fridge too long. Avoid canned, frozen, processed, fried, junk, toxic, and highly cooked items. Always stay away from animal products and services.

2) Avoid Animal Manure

  • Use Veganic gardening items and gloves to avoid soil pathogens. Organic items use animal manure, blood, bones, etc., which are exploitative, pathogenic and parasitical.
  • Use plant compost, leaf mould and other veganic methods. Animal manure can contain bacteria, viruses and parasites that contaminate vegetables and groundwater.
  • Obtain Vitamin B12 from fortified foods or supplements rather than relying on manure-contaminated organic produce or animal based products of exploitation such as animal meats, dairy, eggs, etc.

3) Practise Excellent Personal Hygiene and use good Footwear

  • Wash hands properly especially before and after eating and after touching others including non-human animals or humans if they are likely to carry germs.
  • Keep fingernails short and clean: Food waste and other dirt stays inside nail growth. Pinworms or threadworms spread through itching at night to multiply eggs that can live in nails and spread around. Many other germs spread through nails.
  • Sweat can create an environment for infections to thrive in, for sweat rash, follicularitis, contact dermatitis, often worsening eczema, or bartholin cysts from blocked glands and pores. Shower regularly or take baths with hot water to get rid of sweat and germs picked up during the course of the day.
  • Wash hair regularly to avoid dandruff, lice and other infections.
  • Brush teeth twice daily as bacteria can infect the mouth, throat, and also pass to others and create dental cavities, gum infections and pain.
  • Change towels regularly as well as undergarments and any pillowcases, sheets, etc. to prevent bugs, germs. and parasites.
  • Wash clothes, bedding, mats, throws, rugs, curtains, or upholstery and keep clean all carpets from dust, pests, and mites.
  • Use only Vegan homecare, personal care and cleaning products.

Wear clean and good quality vegan footwear outdoors, to reduce exposure to parasites, sharp objects and contaminated soil. Some worms, viruses, fungi, and bacteria infect the feet, especially hookworms (creeping eruptions from ground contaminated with animal faeces), athlete’s foot (fungal infection), and HPV (verruca infection). Walking barefoot is not essential for spirituality, in imitation of any culture or guru.

4) Keep Your Home Clean

  • Kitchen worktops and utensils
  • Chopping boards and equipment
  • Door handles or knobs
  • Phones
  • Computer keyboards
  • Gym equipment
  • Toilet seats and floor
  • Bathroom surfaces
  • Bins
  • Furnitures and fixtures

Prevent mould growth by:

  • fixing leaks
  • ventilating bathrooms and all rooms
  • reducing dampness

Pest Control: Reduce exposure to rodents, spiders, and insects

  • Cleaning the home, utensils and fridges, and keeping them dry
  • Avoiding all clutter and useless items from piling up where they may hide
  • Using only minimal, lightweight and easy to move furniture
  • Avoiding thick curtains, rugs or carpets to enable them to hide in
  • Using herbs such as peppermint spray, conker shells, garlic and cloves to repel them.

5) Safe Water Tips

Not just food or pests but water can transmit diseases.

Cholera, E-coli, Hepatitis, Salmonella, Noravirus, and flus can spread through water.

Cryptosporidium: A microscopic parasite found in human and animal feces. It is notoriously resistant to chlorine disinfection.

Brain-Eating Amoeba (Naegleria fowleri): Thrives in warm fresh water. If it enters the nose, it travels to the brain and causes meningoencephalitis, an infection with a fatality rate approaching 100%.

Blood Flukes (Schistosoma): These flatworms burrow through human skin in contaminated water. They mature in the bloodstream and cause schistosomiasis, leading to severe organ damage, internal bleeding, and kidney failure.

  • Use suitable filtration or bottled water where appropriate.
  • Boil water if contamination is suspected (not all germs die from boiling).
  • Avoid drinking from rivers and streams without purification.
  • Use clean pools as swimming can transmit infections from water at times
  • Shower and bathe before and after swimming

6) Use Herbs and Spices for cleansing the body as natural medicines

Many herbs contain compounds with antimicrobial and anti-parasitic properties, for e.g.:

  • Clove (eugenol)
  • Garlic (allicin)
  • Oregano (carvacrol)
  • Thyme (thymol)
  • Cinnamon (cinnamaldehyde)
  • Ginger (gingerols)
  • Turmeric (curcumin)
  • Rosemary (phenolic and carnosic acids)
  • Sage (eucalyptols)
  • Wormwood (in small doses as recommended)

7) Avoid Animal Exploitation Contact

Animal exploitation such as animal farms, domesticated pets, horses or other uses of animals, causes diseases and harm to us as well as the victim animals. Be Vegan in not just diet but rejecting all exploitation. Take appropriate care as activists when visiting animal farms, slaughterhouses, or sanctuaries even for rescue and rehabilitation.

  • Avoid contact with domesticated or farmed animals
  • Avoid unnecessary contact with animal faeces.
  • Take precautions when around wildlife.
  • Wash hands after unavoidable animal contact.
  • Focus on awareness building and education on Veganism to end exploitation as rescue does not address demand by itself.

8) Sensible Social and Sexual Boundaries

  • Stay home when ill.
  • Avoid close contact and sitting next to people who have contagious infections
  • Avoid interactions with those who seem to lack hygiene.
  • Wash  hands and face after being in crowded public places.
  • Cover coughs and sneezes and avoid people from talking upon or sneezing over your food to avoid saliva droplets.
  • Use a vegan disinfectant for home and personal use for safety
  • Wear a mask in high-risk situations if appropriate (for example, during respiratory virus outbreaks or when caring for someone infectious).
  • Mutual monogamy or limiting partners reduces exposure to sexually transmitted infections.
  • Partners must practice good personal hygiene, and a healthy vegan diet too.
  • Barrier protection and sexual health screening where relevant are advisable.
  • Avoid sexual intimacy when either partner has symptoms of infections.

A single 10-second kiss can transfer an estimated 80 million bacteria between partners. Frequent kissing actually causes couples to share similar oral microbes and possible gut contamination. Herpes, kissing disease or glandular fever, cold and flu, tooth bacteria/ decay, H.pylori and several other germs and parasites can be transmitted. Several pathogens may be transmitted. Spiritual people prefer to stay celibate or monogamous with only compatible healthy partners, for a reason. We value personal wellbeing, as well as focus on our life-purpose of spiritual liberation, raising awareness and enhancing consciousness.

9) Stay Informed and Use Preventive Healthcare when essential.

  1. Only use antibiotics when prescribed as misuse contributes to antimicrobial resistance.
  2. Vaccines are sometimes prescribed to manage certain risks of infections and it is a good idea to research on ingredients before you decide to use them. Some of them use pig gelatin, egg based mediums, cow based serums, animal testing, and contribute to exploitation as well as to spread of germs in the bargain.
  3. Please note that a plant based healthy diet was noted to reduce risks of developing serious corona-virus symptoms by as much as 75%. Plant-based food prevent several animal caused diseases, and infections. For more details read: Detailed Article on Infectious Diseases Due to Animal Exploitation

10. Build a Strong Immune System

  • Plenty of colourful vegetables, fruit, nuts and seeds for phytonutrients and vitamins.
  • Regular exercise and healthy body weight/ BMI control
  • Avoid smoking, alchohol, and narcotics
  • Limit tea and coffee
  • Sleep well: Poor sleep can disrupt the balance of the gut microbiome and lower immunity.
  • Stress management: Prolonged psychological stress such as due to care-giving responsibilities, major life events, abuse, trauma, or ongoing workplace stress can reduce immunity.

Stress management: Prolonged psychological stress such as care-giving responsibilities, major life events, abuse, trauma, or ongoing workplace stress can reduce immunity. Take deep meditative regression or hypno-therapies and spiritual healing sessions to recover from past events of trauma, abuse, and stress. Predict and prevent or cut-cords from current ongoing abuse or risk factors and people through an intuitive counselling session with meditation, tarot and astrological guidance to clarify events and feelings.

The goddess of health was termed Hygiea in ancient Greece for a reason. Health cannot exist without hygiene. Spiritual peace and growth cannot be attained without wellbeing. When you open your body to contamination through animal products, germs, and abuse or exploitation of yourself or others, you can attract negative energy that takes over your life over the course of years. Manifesting a better life begins with a strong grounding in basic health and wellbeing.

Blessed Be!
